victorose - my D was also invited to the AU Scholars program (Dean’s scholarship too), which is a terrific program and a great way to find your place in the community.

@ohrly123 Thank you, I will! Some of the options seem really intriguing, but some look like fluff courses.
@lottechar Some are just semester lecture classes and others are full year with the first semester lecture and the 2nd semester being the lab.

I’m in CT and haven’t received any mail yet. I could log into the portal and see the whole “Congratulations, Samuel, on your acceptance to American University!”. If you can log in does that for sure mean that you were admitted?
D was accepted to honors with 20k merit but with minimal FA. She was so thrilled to be accepted but it doesn’t seem like the FA will work :-(.
I spoke to AU. No chance of increasing my FA award so I won’t be attending. Only good news is that my other universities have given me almost full rides. Seems that AU has a long established policy of “gapping” students. Better if they would simply reject us.
@sam998 I have not seen an instance of where someone got that welcome message and hasn’t gotten in.
What is this portal everyone is talking about? Is it the prospective student portal? Just wondering. I am so anxious, I live in NY and have not received anything yet.

@emilymm96 I was part of the ED1 wave so I have been in for a bit. 
Accepted from PA Happy/sad no money means no American. 60,000. is too much for me. Congrats to all and much success.

Hoping the package comes soon in Michigan! American wasn’t looking too good for me because of $$$ but with $15k grant and merit aid it looks like I’ll be joining class of 2019!
