Hey everybody,
I’m hoping to transfer to American (and a couple others) in Fall 2020 for International Studies or Business from a CA community college.
College stats:
GPA 3.45 1st semester, will be closer to 3.8 by the end of this semester.
SAT: 1310 (620M 690R/W)
EC: so far Model UN, hopefully 1 or 2 more clubs next semester
gap year: consisted of over 200 hours of volunteer hours across different countries, internship in Africa, and internship at travel business in SF.
HS GPA: 2.45 (major health/personal issues, explainable in essay/interview). American also doesn’t require high school transcript so won’t be sending.
Took a gap year after HS travelling, volunteering/working abroad, overcame what was holding me back before now doing much better in college (will talk about in essay/interview)
I know American values demonstrated interest, i’ve taken a tour and info session and will be back at least one more time for interview. I also specifically chose my courses at CC this semester to align with/transfer to American’s Gen. Ed.
recommendations/thoughts?
