American University Waitlist

I’m new to this website but I haven’t seen anything since 2014 about the waitlist for American University. I was waitlisted at American and I wanted to know any one else that has been waitlisted and what’s going on. What is your profile or do you know anything about the waitlist?

Here’s my profile:
GPA: 3.82 weighted
Rank: N/A (we don’t do it)
SAT: 1470
ACT: 32
Race: White
Gender: Female
From: Illinois
High School: 500 students in graduating class

Okay so I was talking with my state’s rep and she said that she didn’t think they were turning to the waitlist.

Your stats are pretty good! Don’t know why you didnt get in? Where did you get in? Sorry about the WL, but it’s still something!

I was also waitlisted with:

New Jersey
1330 SAT
3.9 GPA W
Plenty of extracurricular, which I posted in the RD chat.

I’m really upset, but I hope to receive better news soon!

The OP was from LAST years admissions cycle.

I got waitlisted in NorCal today! I’m really happy, since it is my dream school. I know that no one got off the waitlist last year, but so many schools overadmitted last year, so maybe there is hope? (People did get off in 2016). If anyone has advice on what could increase my chances I would appreciate it. For those interested, here are my stats:
Gpa - 3.42
Sat - 1370
ECs - amazing
Essays and supplemental - 10/10, won an award for my common app essay

Any feedback would be appreciated. I am also low middle class in NorCal (<$70k) so financial aid matters a lot.

I am from Nevada and I was waitlisted on Saturday. 3.8 WGPA, applied test-optional, took extra classes at CC, very good EC’s and recs. Essay was quite good and received lots of positive feedback from it. I was quite shocked that I was waitlisted but excited. Even if I am not taken off of the waitlist, then it is still very rewarding. No idea if they will be using the waitlist this year but I will remain positive and hopeful.
