American vs Muhlenberg

D has narrowed down her choices to Muhlenberg and American University for Musical Theater.

Which is better choice for MT? Any recommendations of one over the other?

idk - You may want to post this over on the Muhlenberg forum. There are lots of great people on there and current students who can tell you about the school. Have you been to visit already? My D (hs jr) and I visited Muhlenberg last summer and she loved it. She has a friend who is attending American, but not for theatre.

Sorry, I don’t know much about American, other than it is in DC. If you have specific questions about Muhlenberg, I can try to help, as my D is a junior there.

I don’t know anything about American, but I go to Muhlenberg and it’s fabulous. if that helps. (: you can PM me of course if you have specific questions.

I believe that Muhlenberg’s major is actually theater, not MT. They do offer voice and dance lessons, however. American does offer a BA in MT.

idk- I’m a freshman MT student at American right now and this was the exact decision I had to make last year. Both schools have great, supportive, developed programs. Personally, the faculty at American is what really helped me make my decision…they’re are absolutely amazing. I also loved the area American is in and the type of students that the program produces. After a year of being here, my opinion on this hasn’t changed. I love being here and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Not to say that Muhlenberg isn’t a wonderful school as well. Ultimately, it comes down to where you feel more comfortable and think you’ll be happier. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me!
