America's top 10 colleges: No.1 Princeton

Princeton is still the most affordable as well:

[College Rankings 2012: Most Affordable Colleges (photos) - Newsweek and The Daily Beast](http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/galleries/2012/08/05/college-rankings-2012-most-affordable-colleges-photos.html)

How is Johns Hopkins and WUSL ranked so low??

And Williams is #2 (bumped by Princeton this year).

FutureDocSauve is right! (I am a JHU alum and current Princeton student).

Skimming through the methodology reveals several things: first of all, student satisfaction is largely measure by RateMyProfessor (need I say more?). Even ignoring the fact that comparing satisfaction at Princeton vs. Williams is comparing apples to oranges, almost all schools collect student evaluations which are more detailed than those on RateMyProfessor (and almost certainly more honest). Princeton’s data is not public, but many schools’ is (and is it really that hard to find a Princeton student who can log into SCORE and access the data?). Next, the measure of post-graduate success is incomplete. Salary is hardly everything (what about schools that send lots of people into academia, where they will not be earning seven figures?). And it accounts for students earning Ph.D.'s but not MDs, MBAs, JDs, and so forth.

Just some thoughts.
