Accepted to all 3!
I am in complete shock...

I have no idea where to go

Please tell me what you think!

Amherst!!!

Bowdoin of course- that's if you want to be happy. I mean not everyone wants to be happy.

im so confused!
ughhh

That's quite amazing. None of my friends have been accepted to those three (all waitlists). I'm rather partial to Bowdoin. Have you visited Bowdoin? It's a great school!

Bowdoin FTW!!!!!!!!!

Middlebury, of course.

ok firstly... HOW did you do that?! :P
secondly, i don't have much experience but I'd say Amherst.

I think that you should tell us a little bit about yourself and maybe what you want to study and what you are looking for in college.
Then people can actually give valid comments other than just saying which of the three is their favorite.

Just for the heck of it though
I liked Bowdoin. haha
Of course my opinion is biased considering I am going to Bowdoin Next year.

That is very impressive!! have seen all three at least twice, so if you tell us about yourself and what you are interested in then we can comment.

Verrrry impressive. Good for you.

IMPO, Bowdoin & Middlebury are tied --- and tops.

But neither have that "five-college consortium" experience.

Middlebury has a great college town. And the best language program in the US.

Bowdoin is just a damn good school.

Read my first line again.

honestly guys, im still absorbing the news. i never expected to get into all three of these schools. ive been having a really lucky year in regards to school, and i am feeling so incredibly grateful. i kinda just threw out this thread because i was feeling so overwhelmed, but i just got home from volunteering and am feeling a little more balanced. So i apologize for not giving much more info.

I am from Tampa, Fl, so i know the winters will come as a shock. I can find pieces in all of these schools that i absolutely love, and at some point each of these schools was my top choice. I am interested in a psych/bio double major (MAYBE with a possible minor in classical studies).

I love hiking/camping (not big on skiing since i live in FL) and being able to just get away from the stress of school. Volunteering is also one of my biggest passions, so it would be great to have a wide variety of opportunities. I dont want cut-throat competition or arrogant students, although i realize it's impossible to not find any of these at any school. diversity would be amazing (VP of diversity club for 3 years, one of 40 students chosen for week-long interfaith alliance camp in D.C this summer, and founding member of a youth interfaith alliance in tampa), so i dont really want to be at a school where different cultures/religions/races are looked down upon. umm i honestly have no idea what else to say. any specific questions?

I have never visited these schools due to the cost (i guess now i will have to visit though), but from what ive seen all three have gorgeous campuses. I also know that each has top-notch academics and its own unique opportunities. I think it will come down to which college i feel most comfortable with once i visit, but i would just love to hear some feedback from you all.

thank you so much!

what major?

right now, I would say Amherst.

psych/bio double major (with possibly a minor in classical studies)

i really like amherst's open curriculum, but i also dont mind having the wide range of options available at bowdoin and midd

Amherst or Bowdoin definitely

Bowdoin for sure

Middlebury <3333333

haha you all are just making me more confused

Well, the straw poll doesn't seem to be getting you any consensus. If I was in your position, I'd be torn too. The good news is that the net result of randomly picking any one of them will be fabulous.

So, here's why I'd probably choose Amherst. It has the opportunities for the wilderness that you appreciate, but it's also in the midst of a multi-college setting with a huge university in the same town, so it's got the best of both worlds. And its location is less remote from the rest of New England / NY, so you could take advantage of more of that region. Academically, it's as celebrated as you can get in the LAC world. The student body there will be as talented as at any college or university in the world. And FWIW, it may be the only top LAC (or maybe one of two, with Swarthmore?) with national name recognition comparable to some of the top universities. Congratulations - you're living my fantasy!

thank you everyone!
any more comments would be much appreciated

i am trying to figure out how my HS will let me miss so many days to visit these colleges just weeks before our IB exams...should be interesting
