Hey also has Amherst asked anyone to send in their Mid-Term reports?

They didn’t ask, but since Cornell did I just sent it to all my schools.

@Fremont

Whatever the cause, the notice has changed. I’ve been checking it regularly. Of course, it’s no cause to celebrate.

I am applying. I’m from a small LAC also in Massachusetts, and I’m a kind of non-traditional student, so I’m not sure how fantastic my chances are…Anyway, I think I’ll refrain from posting stats now. Maybe after I’ve been accepted/rejected.

mine changed too! ugh… i dont want to get my hopes up and get shot down though! i got into cornell too though maybe i will se some of you there!

YOU GUYS ARE ACCEPTED!!!

~allll byyyyy myselffffffff, dont wanna beeeeeeee allll byy myyyself~

Sorry Im obnoxious guys, but it sucks. Especially when you want something so bad.

how do you know? its probably just some kind of problem with the system. People who applied to Cornell were able to log into housing early and still didnt get in. I was the first one notified on this forum… and I STILL cant log into housing hahaha funny how there things work out

@mika41793 Where are you applying from? Where else have you applied?

@WorriedAlways I’m freaking out too. My friends are telling me to shut up about it… I think all my hair is going to fall out. I’m going INSANE! I think I’ll cry if I don’t get in man.

I am applying from a small community college in CT. I am about 1.5 hrs away. Applied to UCONN (accepted), Cornell (accepted), Carnegie Mellon, and Wesleyan… no replies yet from the rest

What about yourself?

and congrats to you on cornell, ronlo. who knows, i might be seeing you at one of these schools!

Because mine doesn’t say it.

And you guys were smart enough to get into Cornell. :(

Ugh shoulda went to a community college…

And Ronlo,

Eh I need food…

That’s awesome! Congrats on the acceptances :). I applied from a small community college in NY. Applied to Stonybrook (accepted), Cornell (accepted), Johns Hopkins, and Amherst college… Haven’t heard from the last two!

This application process will be the death of me, I swear. Getting accepted into Amherst College will complete my life… My soul just can’t…

What is your first choice, second choice, etc?

dont say that yet!!! you don’t even want to know what my SATs were. It’s not about smarts, its about being a well rounded person too. If it was based on SATs, HS GPA, and college GPA alone they wouldn’t know who to choose. They are looking for more than volunteer experience and a 4.0!!! believe in yourself where else have you applied?

Well, it seems as though we only applied to 1 school together. I actually just went to Cornell this weekend. It’s a beautiful campus.

@worriedAlways… Have you visited Amherst College?

cornell and amherst are my top two, but cornell is slightly ahead. I was accepted to CHE for the Human Biology, Health and Society major. This is EXACTLY the major that I wanted, but Amherst was really nice too! I like a small environment. Didn’t even think of applying to Johns Hopkins. I should have though… what are you going for/ what college were you accepted to at cornell?

I agree with Mika. Although I don’t have a 4.0 (I have a 3.9), you have to be involved. I’ve received several awards, deans list, volunteer at a hospital, leadership positions, etc… In addition, your essays should be on point. I doubt my essays were, but I told my story the best way I could :).

So, all of us with the changed message are from community colleges?

I know it’s very little to go on, but the mind wants to wander.

NYU and UT Austin. :/

Sigh. I bet my essays didn’t rock it. And my advisor report sucked. Like she didn’t even care. Big state universities suck. She left A LOT of stuff blank and she did it in a hurry. I called Amherst a couple of times because I told them we didn’t have class deans or whatever and they said to get my advisor to do it. She advises thousands of kids and knows none of us. Idk.

I just really doubt I’ll be one of you 25.

I agree! hahaha i didnt even know about this thread until now. Now, if there was just someone from a cc that can’t see it I would let my mind wander even further
