I have not seen an active Amherst College RD thread yet, so I decided to make one!
This thread is for any questions, discussion, or thoughts regarding Amherst College regular decision admissions for the prospective class of 2026.
Note: I am a current first-year at Amherst, so I am happy to answer any questions that I can as well!

Yes. My child got one. I think they go to all applicants. It is their way of keeping the applicants’s interest up while they decide on their level of interest in the applicant.

We received one too! DS was accepted to A2A Indigenous program this fall, fingers-Crossed.
IB diploma student, heavy sciences, wants to study engineering/philosophy. Plays two sports at elite level, lots of ECs. Good luck everyone.

When do y’all think we’ll get our Amherst decisions - this week? Day/time?
somehow it’s in my mind that decisions release on the 20th but i can’t remember where i saw that from- can anyone confirm or deny?
The 20th is a Sunday, so I don’t think it will be that day? I have the 21st as a strong possibility based on past years.
Not likely. They know how excited students are, so the will definitely send decisions earlier.
when have they tended to release decisions in past years?
Last year was March 29, so I was expecting it to be later. However Williams was March 25th last year and they just announced they’re coming out Friday March 18, so maybe Amherst will be sooner as well.

Yeah - in 2020, Amherst released decisions on March 19th. So it could be any time, basically. 
I just love the waiting haha, this week has been so stressful with Williams, Conn, and Wellesley coming out soon, and now maybe Amherst.
