Amherst College offers Early Decision but does not offer Early Action for freshman admissions.

The Early Decision (ED) deadline for Fall 2022 admission is November 1.

All ED1 applications should receive an admissions decision by December 15. Last year, Amherst admitted 214 of the 857 applicants who applied early decision. The acceptance rate was 24.97%.

Hi Everyone, are any international students applying ED sending in their IELTS/TOEFL scores officially or self-reporting them on common app? Thanks in advance.

I applied ED to Amherst and got an email saying that the admit decision will come out in Mid-December. Just curious if anyone has any idea what the exact date will be.

I also got an email on November 23 about what name I would like to use and that ED decisions will be out by mid December. Didn’t you get the email?

Yeah, I got the same email.

Not sure about this year but last year Amherst had 857 ED applicants of which 25% where accepted.

There might be a slight decrease in applicants this year: some selective colleges with a high volume of international applicants are reporting a small decrease in early applicants this year (e.g. Yale).

I gat the email too. Did anyone got an email on November 23 on which name they would like to use? I also don’t know why Amherst didn’t release the total number of ED applicants. Does anyone have an idea?

I believe everyone got 11/23 email about name selection. That has been done in the past as well. Not sure on number of ED applicants.
