beinghere -
It means you have been admitted. You’re in. Congratulations.
Details to follow in the letter they mailed Dec. 10.

Ugh, why is it not here yet?! I’m waiting for my letter/email/whatever and it’s driving me crazy!

I just woke up (because I hardly could continue sleeping) and found out I’d been deferred.

I got deferred as well. oh well. did anyone even get rejected? I got a feeling that everyone who is not accepted got deferred~

i got deferred too
a girl from my schoool who had also applied got rejected…

it feels sooooo bad.

BTW
congrats beinghere.

I got accepted. They want 400 and the contract back by Jan 6. No need to apply to Dartmouth. Gotta call interviewers from Macalester and Carleton and cancel. Hey, I would love to see your profile. I also have boatload of homework to do.

Congratulations beinghere.
I also got defered.

I think Amherst defers just about everyone they don’t accept.
During RD, I think I’ve heard the # of waitlisted students are larger than those admitted lol…

I am disappointed, but that won’t stop me preparing for RD. :)

congrats to notnoahnotlowell as well :)

I applied to Amherst for Early Decision I and got denied. Reapplied for Early Decision II and got accepted. Congratulations to those who were also accepted.

For all the people that got deferred, I am so sorry. Don’t lose hope, though! Best of luck to everyone :)

Where did you apply ED II?

Uhhh am I the only one who hasn’t heard anything yet? I’m in CT and it wasn’t in the mail today…

Congratulations to those accepted. To those rejected, you’ve heard it a million times but things will turn out okay in the end (take it from an ED reject from another school) and you’ll end up at a school that you’ll grow to love. Deferred folk, we’ll be getting to know each other soon. ;)

I’m so sad right now. guess i should take a day or two off my RD prep.

how much chance is there for a deferred candidate to get admitted in RD by the same institution?

ahhhh I’m still waiting on mine. I’m in Texas, so I hope it will come today…

notnoahnotlowell, I applied through Questbridge. My Early Decision deadline for Questbridge was September 30 and I was notified of my “denied” status on December 1st. Then, I moved to Questbridge’s Regular Decision process in which I could apply to Amherst again, but Amherst’s ED II deadline was December 4th. Many Questbridge colleges allow denied applicants to apply for Early Decision II immediately after being notified. It certainly paid off this time.

Good luck to everyone still waiting on their letters.
