@Quasi: how about adding something to that tune in the “Additional Information” section of the common app?

@quasi
Don’t ED anywhere then. If Amherst is ur fav, go for it in RD!!!.

^^^ oh sorry,
I guess u implied that in ur post!

But my CommonApp goes to everyone. I don’t want all my schools to know that I’d pick Amherst over them!

Yeah Duke, not applying anywhere early. I guess I’m gonna email Amherst and let them know/ask them what my best course of action would be.

hey people.

Can we have access to application essays that “worked” for Amherst??

Ahh Quasi! Create alternate versions of the Common App!

In case it isn’t obvious how to make multiple versions of the commonapp, this is what someone said to do on another thread:

You create your commonapp. You put whatever you want in the Additional Information section, and then you submit it to your first choice school.

Then you edit the Additional Info section and send it to your next school.

And so on.

Now, I haven’t tried it yet. Does anyone know if this would work? Or when you hit SUBMIT, does it go to all the schools at once?

i’m applying ED too!! Ahh so nerve wracking… And about Common App: I think that it just goes to the one school, considering each school has its own “submit” button in their supplements… I could be wrong though

@ all
hey being an international, do i need to fill the CSS profile tooo??
i’m worried because i haven’t and the CSS profile deadline is nov 1

I found out we do have to fill the CSS, every one of us.
are u guys done with it??

hey guys, i’m applying ED also. I was just wondering if it was OK that I sent my SAT’s in before I officially applied.

Yeah! They’ll start your file when they get your SAT scores.

I am officially applying to ED now. I just signed my ED agreement today!!

I’m applying ED to Amherst
I really think its the place for me…

Awesome Jombe! Have you submitted your app already?

i hate it that there’s a word limit of 500 in the supplement. Did anyone have a similar problem of limiting his/her response?

Isn’t it a suggested word limit? I’ve gone over by at least a 100 words.

suggested? hmmm, i should ask them

I hate word limits too. Couldn’t write everything that I wanted.

Anyway, I exceeded my essay by around 20 words, but I guess that shouldn’t be much of a problem right?

i don’t think that 20 would be much of a problem.
