still no mail today! called the admission office and they told me to wait patiently for the mail to arrive…(they’re probably too nice to break my heart over the phone). ah well.

^
I’m pullin’ for you.

Don’t worry, Juenatics. I haven’t received anything in the mail either. You’ll get in!

hey vasam123, did you call?

i wonder if Amherst gives every admitted student a call.

thin envelope. sigh.
thanks jay and OCC for your words of encouragement, and all the best in amherst!!

What?! Aww, you didn’t get in? Where you going now?

OCC, did you like get into every school you applied? I always see you around! Congrats!!

haha, no. I’ve been denied from several, but I got into some of my top choices so I’m happy. Did you apply to Amherst, Missy?

Yep, but I was denied from Wellesley so I don’t really expect to get in. Haha, it would be rad, though! Is Amherst where you’ll be going? :D

@OCC,
thankfully i got an offer from dartmouth, and that’s probably where i’ll be going.
dartmouth’s a pretty cool place too, but i really liked amherst when i visited it in march.
OCC, what other offers do you have?

I’ve gotten into 9 schools, but I was only debating between two, Georgetown and Amherst. But I’ve realized that Amherst is where I want to be, so assuming the finaid is good, I’ll be going.

My letter was actually very tiny too. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought I was rejected.

Juenatics, Dartmouth seems amazing. You’re going to an Ivy, so you’re in a good spot.

9!? Which ones?
I have four so far but three of them are UCs.

lol, 9 might sound impressive, but I applied to 17 and the ones I got into had high acceptance rates. Amherst, College of William & Mary, Georgetown, Smith, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSB, University of Richmond, and Wellesley.

Missy, have you heard from Amherst yet? I thought letters came in the mail today.

i must say i’m very impressed with OCC et al. who got into amherst this year…5% transfer acceptance rate!!! your credentials and transcripts must be really good…sigh. i really did like amherst - the view of the holyoke range, the natural history museum, the 7:1 student to faculty ratio…

What the heck, OCC! High acceptance rates!? LOL
I got the letter few minutes ago and I was (of course) rejected. 15 STUDENTS! You must be super smart!!

^
OCC, I’m glad that you seem to be leaning heavily towards Amherst. I look forward to meeting you and the other transfers come orientation.

Only 15 people this year, from what people are saying. That’s pretty crazy, but it’s still humbling for me to be part of such a small group. I just feel fortunate I was given this chance. Now to make the most of it.

For all those who didn’t get accepted, I’m truly sorry. However, I’m sure you’ll all go on to do great things at a different college or university. Good luck everyone, though a group this talented probably won’t need it.

i called,
they told me that they were mailing the decisions on monday next week. but did not tell me my decisions. and also they would not email the decisions, even international students need to wait for the mail…

are you an international student, Diablo47? I heard they were sending international students emails. Strange. Yeah, I think a few of us have received our decisions via snail mail already.

Hey OCCT,

I’m planning on applying as a Transfer for next fall from CC and was wondering what your background is. Extra-Ciric’s, GPA, ect…

thanks a lot

yes occtransfer! Then she might have told me the wrong thing…
or maybe they send out acceptances first and then rejections…
i must have been rejected lol.
