Amherst Transfers

Congrats on the financial aid, OCCTransfer. It’s like winning the lottery.

i asked them on the phone… i got rejected.:frowning: i think i have no luck on astronomy .

aw, I’m sorry DBSSURFER! That sucks! Where are you going now?

elvis32z, are you getting a facebook?

WHAT!?

Oh my god… 0____0 bangs head on the floor

Well, not that I would have gotten in anyway
Congrats on the finaid, it’s awesome! What school are you currently at again?

Yeah, and I think the SAT optional thing really helped. Darren Reaume basically said he strongly recommends not submitting SAT scores if they’re not in median range at Amherst. He kinda said it’ll only hurt your application.

What’s the medium range at Amherst?

OCCTransfer, I am still thinking about it. I have been having such a happy life without a Facebook, but I will probably make one eventually.

missyujin, Mean SAT scores: critical reading 708, math 707, writing 706

elvis32z, pleeeease. Honestly, tons of Amherst students have a facebook. Great way to keep in touch

haha yes elvis, it’s almost impossible to survive amherst socially without facebook!!! please get an account soon!

Hmm…I suppose overall I did better than that range, but then again it’s still the mean…
Well, I’m over it. :stuck_out_tongue: Good luck at Amherst guys! You guys must be really amazing to have gotten into Amherst, so congrats!! :D

Just to report, my rejection letter arrived today. It was dated 7th May 2009 so it tooks its time to get to Australia!
It’s all good. I’m going to Dartmouth! :)

Have fun at Amherst, to those that got in!

Hey, Dartmouth is IVY LEAGUE! :D

Hey Claire, wow we’re in the same boat! Rejected by Amherst but fortunately accepted to Dartmouth!

I did really like Amherst though. I remember that my visit to Amherst was pretty amazing. :)

wow, guys. Dartmouth? Congrats! What an accomplishment.

still haven’t got my decision… probably rejected or they would have contacted me. I still don’t know where I am going next year…

Haha, thanks guys! I actually rated my chances of getting into Dartmouth much lower than the chances of getting into Amherst, but life’s kind of funny the way it works out.
Juenatics, if you’re on Facebook you should join the Dartmouth Transfers 2009 Group.

I hope everyone has a great time wherever they end up and it helps to remember that acceptance/rejection is not a representation of one’s self worth.

^
The Amherst Transfers 2009 Facebook group is looking pretty sad with 2 people, hah hah.

jaykoblives, in order to keep up, I really don’t have time to do a first year seminar. Does anyone know if we have to?

Does the transfer housing preference form work for anyone?

It doesn’t work for me.
