Does Amherst care that you visit when considering you for admission? Is it an important factor?

Not particularly.

Obviously, it’s best to visit before applying, just for the sake of getting a sense of the school, determining whether you like seminar-style classes, etc. But no, I don’t think admissions keeps tabs on who visits and who doesn’t. If you’re not able to visit, it won’t be counted against you.

We were at Amherst last summer, but didn’t attend information session, etc. My daughter loves the Amherst after visit. It really helps to visit the schools before applying, That’s the lesson we learned.
