So these are my very top choices right now. I want to go on to law school after undergrad and assuming that Georgetown is as generous as Amherst was to me with fin aid, I am going to have a hard time choosing. They are almost polar opposites and I was wondering your thoughts on what would be the best for applying to law school later: strong, top notch liberal arts education vs. large university with big poli sci scene where many are likely to apply to law school as well?

Since pre-law has no specific course or major requirements, consider the schools in terms of the academic courses and majors that you are interested in and which you can get a top-14-law-school-acceptable GPA. Note that both schools do have cross registration agreements with nearby schools that can increase the course options, although that would involve some commuting.

You really can’t go wrong with either school academically. One can get to Harvard Law from either school. You definitely want to see if they offer the courses you seek. But it could just come down to whether you see yourself being more comfortable in a large university in a large city or a small college in a college town over the next four years.
