Side note: Smith agreed to the original $5,000 loan plus books, meaning it will cost me a total of $12,500 plus books for my 2.5 year stay there.

Congrats!!! Sounds like you made the right choice. I couldn’t in my right mind let someone unknowingly make a choice that would make them as miserable as my host was.

Maybe we’ll see each other around in the 5-college area in the fall!

The real question is why a single sex college still exists in 2014 and whether its a viable model any more.

No, that is completely impertinent to this thread. Go away. If you want to talk about it, create a new thread.

On the contrary it is very pertinent since the single sex schools will need switch to coed to stay relevant just like Amherst did years ago or they will continue their inevitable decline.

You’re just needlessly derailing the thread.

Start another thread and carry out a debate if that’s what you want.

Excellent … well done having Smith revisit their package.

My oldest graduated from Barnard and loved it. But to be totally honest … I’ve visited A LOT of LACs with my kids and Smith is right at the top of my list … I thought is was a pretty special and unique place (including the town) … enjoy!
