Out of curiosity, can someone PLEASE explain the amount of money involved in the following prepaid plans specifically at UF ------
1. 4 year university plan, who much does this cover per credit hour ?
2. Dormitory plan ? Which dorm do you get to select or how much
can you use if you live off campus ?
3. Tuition differential plan, how much does this cover per credit hour ?
4. Investment plan, 529, what percentage can I pull out per semester ?
5. Florida Bright Futures, not sure of the name, but the highest level, how
much does it award for each credit ?
6. What is the total fee per credit hour at UF ?

Need some info. Are you asking as someone who is enrolling a child now, or are you asking for a student who was enrolled in the plan years ago? Need year of enrollment, as benefits have changed. Need to know if the plan you have is tuition only or tuition and local fees. The year determines if the differential is covered.

If the plan is a few years old and is tuition AND local fees, it covers almost everything (including the differential) except for $100+ a semester in certain fees. It covers Summer, Fall, Spring up to 120 credit hours. And not an hour more. It does not cover the technology fee or transportation fee, or extra fees for online classes, certain lab fees… If it is tuition only NO LOCAL FEES it covers tuition but none of the other fees. Again, the year of the contract determines if it covers the differential.

If you have prepaid and BF, you get ALL the money applied to your account and you get a deposit into you bank account or a check for any extra once your balance is zero with UF.

Sunnyflorida-
Thanks for your assistance.
The information listed is for myself. I am currently a senior in High School
and the plan has been fully paid for the last several years.
Additional question-
Can I use the left over monies to purchase a meal plan and my 529 plan
is fully vested. How do I spend the left-over monies in the 529 for college expenses if all the college expenses have been taken care of ?
Can I use the left over money from my 529 for graduate school ?
