Amount of theory involved in Math 1A/B?

I took AP Calculus BC in high school and we didn't cover any of the theory behind calculus at all.

Do we cover epsilon-delta proofs and all that jazz? If so, do the professors just teach it, expect us to know it, but don't actually test us on it because it's practically useless?

Yes, Math 1A is almost entirely based on the epsilon-delta proofs. They’ll teach it, and you’ll be tested on it as well. Your success in the class really depends on your understanding of proofs. From what I understand, the Math 16 series is more like what you learned in AP Calculus.

I hate epsilon-delta proofs lol. But I’ll probabl be in 1B

it really depends on your professor. some will emphasize it, while others merely glance/poke at it. nevertheless, d/e proofs probably will end up on one midterm or final in the end, just because it’s probably the easiest way to knock points off students’ scores. haha.
1b isn’t as bad with proofs. i did hate series with a passion though and that’s an entire midterm by itself practically. (somehow got an A- on that midterm though and a low B on the first, easier midterm this past semester…=)
I enjoyed 1b so much more than 1a though. ha
