Has anyone used this service?
I was thinking about using their service for my tuition balance.

We have used it for three years- there is a fee to set it up and to bill you- but it is nice to have the payments spread out and when D financial aid was adjusted after an income adjustment- TMS was very fast to adjust our payments.
They also will remind you when it is time to set up for next year etc.
We did have a problem when a check didn't clear ( miscomunication about switching accounts) and because we had been using their service for a while and because I called them up and explained , they dropped the bounced check fee.
Overall- easy to do business with- if you can call paying for anything that costs more than your mortgage easy.

We took massive loans, when rates were cheap and investment returns were high. We let the loans pay for tuitions and we went into auto prepayment mode on the student loans, which reduced the rates even further.

Didn't think that the extra fee (although, fairly inconsequential) was worth the service.

However, it may work for you.

We have used AMS Tuition pay for DS for two years also. The fee is $60 to set up the account annually. Payment is over ten months. For some unknown reason we did NOT receive our renewal from them and luckily I noticed this and called. You can do the registration and payments online if you choose to do so. We just send a check. They send a monthly statement. Usually things go smoothly but if there are glitches they are fixed easily with a phone call (e.g. for some odd reason they cancelled our account at the end of freshman year...no one knows why..., this year they didn't send the renewal forms...no one knows why). To us the $60 was worth it as we were able to spread the costs over the 10 months. We didn't want to or need to take out a loan.
