Hi, I am an international student, willing to apply in mechanical engineering is any US college. My toefl score is 95. My high school GPA is quite good, 4.7 out of 5.0 (5 scale GPA system). I am going to take the SAT 1 in this May and I think I will not get more than 1950. But fact is I can't pay more than $10,000 a year in tuition (including room, board etc.) That means I need quite a good amount of financial aid. Can anyone help me by giving some school name where I can apply? Give me some particular school name where I can apply with those statistics and can afford my tuition fees.

Thanks in advance. :-)

You need to start by reading through everything at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.info/) Then you need to make an appointment with the counselors at the advising center closest to where you live [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/centers.php) These counselors can help you find good places to study in the US, and they can tell you if students like you have received good financial aid at those places.

Thank you happymomof. I will go to the American center. But can you give me a hint or suggestion about what type of University I should look for? :-)

Your big problem is that you need a lot of financial aid. It is very hard to find that kind of money for international students. I can’t even begin to help you with this. You need to sit down with experts who know your country’s school system, and who work with students like you all the time.

Hey,

I am also an aspiring international student who is looking to apply to Chapman University to study Creative Producing. Chapman College doesn’t allow students without a social security number to get FA from the Uni directly.

Although, with your impressive GPA there is a massive chance you will get a scholarship depending on where you apply.

Best wishes,
Warehouse

@happymomof, Thanks, then I will go the American center next monday or so. :-)

@warehouse, thank you, but Chapman don’t have any engineering majors. :-(

Hey,

I wasn’t talking about Chapman specifically. Your chances of getting a scholarship is high, but if you want to do an engineering course I suggest you gather some EC’s. But your GPA is good enough to get you a scholarship.
