You probably do. Keep in mind that TJ takes most of its kids from the most affluant county in the nation. It's a magnet school in an area that already has pretty good schools.

TJ is so competitive that colleges may overlook bad ECs (a lot of them get home at like 6 without ECs - some get home at like 9 if they play sports and still have 4-5 hours of work to do...), but test scores shouldn't be that bad...

Heh, I'm really glad I didn't go, though. I made first cut but they rejected my ass second cut (lol, like 70th percentile math vs my 98th English didn't cut it for a tech school!).

AMAZING. Just amazing. I'm sending my kid there [when i have one] . I'm a sophomore haha.

I can't believe they publish the schools to which everyone applied and where they were rejected. I hope the students volunteer that info rather than the schools simply publishing it.

There are about 12 schools in the Country with this kind of admission rates, they are top public magnets, top boarding schools and top private day schools in NYC, Washington and lA.

The official publication does not include names. This is student-run.

There are old versions still up too. Someone who's read enough of my CC posts can probably find me. :)

And students can log in to read volunteered information on GPAs, SATs, SAT IIs, APs, and ECs (alphabet soup). It's a nice system for knowing that I've got soooo damn much competition I can kiss HYMPS goodbye.

@cimmoresque: That's true for some kids, but remember that there's an 8th period built into the day specifically for clubs. I'm co-captain in Debate and president of a service club, and I get home at 5:00. During crew season, that becomes 7:30. I get by fine.
