An end to that problem between 7th term and 8th term...

If I recall correctly, this was the data they gave you. The fourth term is 17 and the 7th term was 77. They asked you for the "8th" term. The answer was 97 and heres why.

I remember plugging and chugging numbers till something worked. (Yeah, I know I;m stupid and wasted time but oh well. I remember that i tried increments of 20 and got. 17, 37, 57, 77, 97. The fifth and sixth terms were 37 and 57, I know this because I typed it in my graphing calculator and its still their. :) There for, the 8th term is 97!!

The answer is 117. We settled it in another thread. Oh dear, can of worms, I know. :)

i thought it was 117...man

Well ango26 you are wrong! I checked it also and I got 117 like the rest of the CC. It is also in my calculator.

but how? If the 4th term given is 17 and 7th term given is 77 that means 5th and 6th term would be 37 and 57 meaning 7th term being 77 and 8th term being 97. Did i read the problem wrong? did they give 4 and 6 to the user?

^ i think it was 3rd and 6th terms =X

117 Period. Have a nice day while I enjoy my 800 on math!

yea it was 3rd and 6th term so its 117

Ouch. snap

3rd and 6th terms. i have this problem in my TI89 titanium's command history, man.

there is no worming out of this one. :/

I got 117 too...but I suck at math.

I got 117 too.
and then I came home and thought about it and became sure it was 107... lol, I spent quite a while worrying about that. lucky my mistake was at home and not on the test!

was this question grid-in or MC?

it was on the mc...and yes 117

i got 117 as the answer as well.

Yeah , the I also got 117 , this question was pretty easy.
