Hello College Confidential Community,

(Sorry about the original post being unfinished. Not sure how that came to be, surely, my inexperience to the functions of this website.)

Hello College Confidential Community,

This is my first post on this forum, and I hope that you all can share your thoughts on my chances into colleges that I’m expecting to apply to without much breath of confidence ( aka “reach schools”).

I am currently a senior with:
Grades: 3.7 unweighted GPA (Sophomore Year was all honors classes, Junior Year, all IB courses (Standard), and Senior (right now), all IB courses with 3 HL (The most my school would permit for a student to take).
My GPA in Freshman was all Bs, my sophomore year had all As except 1 B, and my junior year was a 4.0 GPA.

SAT scores:
SAT 1: 800 Math 750 Reading 780 Writing
SAT Subject Tests: Math IIC - 800, Chemistry - 790, Physics - 770, US History - 780

Extracurricular:
Student Government 2 years ( 100 hrs +)
Ultimate Frisbee 2 years ( 200 hrs +)
Literary Magazine 1 year
Volunteered at a Recreational Center doing actions relating to the preservation of nature ( 50 hours )

Misc.
Asian Male in low-income background.
Two Teacher Recommendations which I know will be a boost. Though, the counselor one will probably be in the middle.
A personal essay imbued with exorbitant drafts and thoughtful, idiosyncratic prose. ( I find a fascination in writing. I am writing a novel – for the joy of the art – that is 17,000 words long so far. Though, I’m not sure if I can put that in my application.)

How are my chances at:
Macaulay Honors CUNY
NYU Stern
Columbia University in New York
Cornell University
University of Pennsylvania

I thank you for your time for reading and inputting your opinions, candidly! If there are more things you think I can add to give you all a more informed decision, please do tell!

Macaulay: Low match
