An Evening at Carolina

Did anyone else get an invitation to "An Evening at Carolina"? It's dinner, a discussion, and a play for "select prospective students" on March 1st. Sounds like kind of a big deal...

Nope---it sounds fun! Let us know how it is!

Was this by mail/email/phone?

It was by e-mail. My parents and I are excited... It should be fun: )

AP-mom,
Going back to your other thread, there have been almost too many invitations and communications from Chapel Hill. I'm starting to confuse them, scramble them, and sort of not take them too seriously.
My parents got their own variant today!
On the flip side, I like the engagement of Carolina. They seem fun! They really want to get to know the students. They keep the whole process entertaining, where all others are sort of dead until April 1st. Good for Carolina!! I like that!
I think I did get this invitation, and heard that it is a very good one to go to. Is this the one where they boast about the "local entertainment"? ---And, you stay overnight? I hear it is a hoot and definitely worth the trip!
Best to all!

It's not an overnight thing- just from 6:30 to 10. Something to look forward to, that's for sure: )

I was invited to it--I think it's for local students.

I attended this event last night, and it was a very good experience: ) I am in no way a drama person, so it was fun seeing a professional play for the first time. It did run long, though (I walked into my house at 11:20 pm). I'd say about thirty kids (and only two boys) attended. We were all wondering why we had been invited- many people I know have already been accepted to UNC, but they've never been invited to an event. The woman in charge told us we were "the cream of the crop" of Wake County, and we're the ones the school would like to enroll. That was really nice to hear: ) Of course, it's even nicer knowing I'll be there for sure next year!

Thanks for the update. It's always nice to hear the good stuff. UNC seems to do a good job of really trying to "woo" the top kids from NC to keep them from going out of state...

Free dinner!!!
