An example of developing one's own "tricks"

<p>I have a question similar to the one above, almost. I really don't understand ratios. I was lost on it all the way through Bio. SO would 7:3 be 70 to 30. You know like the probability problemss. Are they the exact same as fractions saying 7/10 . Or 7 something and 10 something equal a probability. See, I'm confused I hope I am not confusing you. Basically, what does the (:) colon mean in the equation problem?</p>
