I am from northern va, got a 2040 on my sat's. I have a 3.9 GPA, Full load of APs junior and senior year plus I am in wind ensemble, marching band, jazz bands, and indoor drumline. I also study chinese and lived abroad in China, teaching english. Am in NHS and Tri-M which is the music equivalent. I am looking to major in music education and minor in French and Chinese. What do you think will happen with my application?

I think you have a really good chance. Keep your semester 1 grades up and I predict you’ll get accepted.

One thing I would look at is the Chinese program at Madison. I don’t think they offer a whole lot of courses for someone who has advanced knowledge of Chinese.

Remember that to declare the Music Education major you will also have to schedule an audition and be admitted artistically to the School of Music. :)
