<p>So I decided it would be wise to try and remember all my ECs from when I was in high school and discovered the difficulty in translating some activities :)
Since certain clubs or organizations in my country/city are obviously not known worldwide, is it ok to write the hours or years I spent doing the activity and then provide a short explanation next to it on my app?</p>

<p>If you are using the Common Application, you will find the following fields when you enter an activity:</p>
<ul>
<li>a broad category (e.g. community service or dance or science)</li>
<li>a short description of the activity</li>
<li>the position held or honors earned</li>
<li>time commitment (hours/week, weeks/year, years)</li>
