I was wondering if any actual cadets, or people who just plain know a lot about the academy, are aware of a rule against bringing a PDA (like an axim, ipaq, or palm pilot) to the academy? I know it would be pretty useless to have during BCT, but I am thinking about the academic year.

And while I am on the subject, what are the exact rules on Cell phones and calculators (I know I would hate not bringing a ti-89).

Thanks a lot, once again, no speculations please, answers from either cadets or people like Doc would be great!!! :)

THANKS!!!

I heard they issue you a calculator, but I'd verify that somewhere. I can ask at orientation this coming Monday, if you'd like.

Yeah, that'd be great. Ask about the calculator, cell phone, and/or pocket pc.

Yes, they issue you a calculator and a laptop (which you pay for). You can have a cell phone after BCT is over in the summer, so I can't imagine that they would not allow a palm pilot or something similar. there are rules on when/where you can use your cell phone--never while walking around outside; freshmen/doolies/4thclassmen generally can use them only in their rooms while on the Academy grounds, plus in a few designated places like Arnold Hall.
