Hi all,

I'll be a senior this upcoming Fall, and will be applying to graduate schools soon. I have been considering applying to a master's program, originally in a biomedical or bioengineering program, however I have been having some recent reconsiderations as to whether a MS degree in mechanical engineering may be a better option for job prospects.
My interests lie in doing some type of bioengineering or biomedical engineering line of work, but it seems like jobs in those fields (although increasing in number) are still rather low and very competitive.

Would a MS degree in bioengineering/biomedical engineering limit my job options to those fields, or would a MS degree in mechanical engineering be a better choice to be able to keep more job options open? Would I be able to apply to bioengineering/biomedical jobs with a MS degree in mech. eng. or is a bioengineering degree more preferable? Any options I haven't considered yet?

-Thanks!
