An Odd Set of Circumstances: Chances of Transferring

Hello All,

I graduated high school in 2010, and began community college in the fall of 2010. I was eighteen, immature, and working nearly full-time. Things went fine for about the first five weeks of school. I was going daily, and my grades were good, I had A's and B's. For some reason though, and to this day i still don't know why, i stopped going. Didn't withdraw or anything just stopped going. Naturally, i got four F's. I then took the next semester off. I realized during that semester that i didn't want to be working as a pizza delivery driver for the rest of my life, and i needed to get my act together. So, in the fall of 2011, i went back. I retook the four classes i failed and got four very high A's. The next semester I took four more classes, and again got four very high A's. This semester I'm taking four more classes, and again I have all A's as of right now.

Because I retook the classes i failed, the grades all got replaced with A's. Couple that with the four other A's i got, and I currently have a 4.0. Obviously I know the F's still are on my transcript, which brings me to my ultimate question. I'm applying to Texas, SMU, TCU, and maybe UTD. My question is, will these schools factor these F's into my transferable gpa? Seemingly if they do I wont even be competitive. I'd really just like to get an idea of how schools value a circumstantial situation such as my own. Because clearly I have the aptitude to attend these schools, i just made a very bad choice my first semester.

Thank you
