An (old) note from Libby

So, when are decisions coming out? I we don't are not know telling. That is a mixture between "I don't know" and "We are not telling." We have a goal date. Do we ever meet the goal date? No. So we're not even going to tell you the goal date, because we probably won't meet it. If we do, we'll be happy, and you'll get your decision in mid-December. If we don't, we'll be less happy, but you'll still get your decision in mid-December.

I can tell you that you will get a letter in the mail. We still do that. I can also tell you that we will email you and tell you to check your decision online when it is available. That is different from last year. Last year we emailed the decisions themselves, but this year we are going to make your official decision available when you log into the online application. So, it is to your benefit to be familiar with your user name and password on the online application! I can also tell you that we will not send this email during school hours, so don't expect it in the morning.

My guess: Either Friday Dec 14th at 6:00pm or Mon Dec 17th at 6:00pm

but seeing as there was a huge jump in apps -- I wouldn't be too surprised if decisions came out sometime in the December 20's :(

Christmas Eve, 5PM.

Happy holidays to you, too.

=P

haha, that would suck. I'd have to sit through mass with that waiting for me at home? Ugh.

i hope they wouldn't release it on christmas eve. While it would definatley make some peoples christmas wonderful, it would ruin others (...or do they only defer EA applicants?)

Also courtesy of the Uncommon Blog: "If you have applied early action, you will either be admitted, deferred, or denied." (See Libby's Decisions - what? 11/9/07 post.)

To be deferred would suck, too, though. "Polite rejection."

"Polite rejection"? Not necessarily at all, especially not this year. With EA applications up over 40%, there is no way that the same percentage of early applicants will be accepted this year as in the past. On the other hand, there has to be an open question whether the EA surge will reflect a corresponding increase in RD applications, or whether it is mainly due to factors (the lack of an early option at Harvard and Princeton, new participation in the Questbridge program) which may essentially have had the effect of shifting RD applications to EA. So I think it is likely that lots of EA candidates who might have been accepted EA in the past will wind up deferred, but will still be extremely good candidates for admission in the RD round.

^ I sincerely hope that's true. All though I really do hope that I won't have to go through that (and just get accepted EA!).

here's to holding out hope

The Individual

Hi!
Just curious, how come class of 2011 stats are still not available on the uc website? Class of 2010 is still there....
