<p>Need help
Would the number of excused and unexcused absenses and periods missed, if not TOO MUCH, effect your admission?</p>

<p>I mean i have somehow received 2 unexcused absenses over the years</p>
<p>If you were constantly missing school for no good reason, I imagine your grades would suffer and that would mess with your admission. But only 2 unexcused absences? Ever? You souldn't even be worrying about it.</p>
<p>I have many, many absences (excused and unexcused... maybe 20-25 this year total) but I've kept my grades up. I was admitted, so I don't think it's a factor.</p>
<p>I'd think there's something a little wrong with you if you didn't have some unexcused absences. Live a little! People who go to school too much are boring.</p>

<p>I second what others have said, and would like to add: make sure that your essays don't reflect the kind of personality that would obsess over 2 unexcused absences. I got into MIT, and I'm pretty sure that I have more than 2 over my high schools years.</p>
<p>[not to brag]reminds me of the time when i had no absences for almost 3 years in high-school. i was absent 2 days in junior year for a reason.[/not to brag]</p>
<p>Hahaha. If I ever give a commencement address or anything of that sort, an important point will be, "Skip classes sometimes. Ignore what your teachers say sometimes. Learn that not everyone's opinion matters. It's a big part of growing up."</p>

<p>Unfortunately now that its senior year I care more than ever, even though i already got rejected from MIT and Stanford and am going to UMich.</p>

<p>i've missed classes several times, but never unexcused. maybe i should start cutting class to be more normal...</p>
<p>lol, my mom has made me skip quite a few classes last year as a sophomore because there was no point going to APhys B or ACompSci since all we did was play games... and play more games. And she didn't feel like driving me.</p>
<p>... i have about 20-25 unexcuses absences and i got in... but then... it wasn't like i skipped to have fun (only about 5 of those unexcused absences were to have fun). i stayed at home and did hw that was due that day. haha.</p>
<p>When I miss school, my mom just calls up and says I'm sick... </p>

<p>Actually, my mom is a school teacher in the district I attended, so often we'd both call in sick to go shopping. :D ...although mostly at her insistence.</p>
