An Unconventional Chance Thread.

<p>I launched a thread recently with virtually no fanfare, and I think I know why.</p>

<li><p>The thread was too long</p></li>
<li><p>The school list was too long AND random.</p></li>
</ol>

<p>So, I have a new chance thread format to try out.</p>

<p>(Post Level ____ 10 char. Link your thread if you wish)</p>

<p>If you think that the highest selectivity level that I can make it into is......</p>

<p>HYPSM- say Level 1 in post</p>

<p>Top 15 LAC or National Uni- say Level 2 in post
(as done by USNWR)</p>

<p>Top 25 LAC or National Uni- say Level 3 in post</p>

<p>Top 40 LAC or National Uni- say Level 4 in post</p>

<p>Top 60 LAC or National Uni- say Level 5 in post</p>

<p>Stats</p>

<p>31 ACT/2100 SAT</p>

<p>3.65 GPA (no weights at my school)</p>

<p>Toughest curriculum available, has gone above and beyond with AP self-study</p>

<p>Top 20% in microscopicly small class (less than 90)</p>

<p>5 - AP Human Geo
4 - AP Gov
4 - APUSH
3 - APWH</p>

<p>God-Awful SAT II's</p>

<p>Good extracurrics</p>

<p>Level 3 if you are applying to the LACs maybe even level 2 for them</p>

<p>but likely level 4</p>

<p>this is because i don’t see any ECs</p>

<p>Didn’t post extracurrics because they take up too much space, but assume “good”. I have about 15 that I spend a fair amount of time on and that can be deemed “significant” with a small amount of state/national success in my competition EC’s.</p>

<p>I think if you list 15 ECs… well I think that comes off as insincere and unfocused… I would go for a common thread amongst them or the ones you’re most passionate about. (Like the ones with state/national success haha)</p>

<p>I would say Level 3… and depending on what your essays look like possible Level 2.</p>

<p>Hooks? Specific schools?</p>

<p>^I’m trying to keep this broad to give myself a general idea. I realize that all schools have their “quirks”, but unfortunately my list currently consists of 30 schools which I will apply to all of.</p>

<p>Me+Common App=BAD!!! ;)</p>

<p>Anyways, I have so many extracurrics because I attend a very small school where it is easy (and expected) to become involved in everything. I really don’t have any hooks, except for no financial need. </p>

<p>I am not an URM, Legacy at anyplace special, etc. Thanks for the chance :)</p>
