An uneven SAT score?

Hi all, today I received my scores for the March SAT. I’m a junior, and I’ve done a ton of test prep, so I was hoping I wouldn’t have to retake the SAT. My combined score was 2170, which I’m pretty happy with. However, my individual math score is a 630, which I’m much less happy about. My question is whether I need to retake the SAT or not, considering that my scores in reading and writing were both very high.
Some schools that I want to apply to are:
Georgetown University
Boston College
Emory University
Tufts College
University of Virginia
I’d be grateful for any insight!

Well, it depends on what type of degree you want. If math doesn’t matter as much, it’s not as valuable. On the other hand, a higher score will always help your chances so theres no downside (besides the time you lose to it).

I got the same score as you and math was my lowest too. I’m wondering the same thing.

I think its worth taking it one more time. 2170 is an average to slightly above average score for those school, but retaking and getting 60 in 70 more points in math and pushing above 2200 will definitely matter (especially for Tufts, UVA, and GT) I would just take a math section or 2 a night from now to May and then take it 1 last time

I agree you should retake it.2170 is a great score but for some of those score a higher score will be to your advantage. If you can get your math score higher your set . Good luck
