I don’t have to take it if i got a 4 on the AP Composition test right?

you are free. off the hook

ohh what if i got a 3?

I believe that let's you off the hook as well.

what if you are taking composition at a community college this summer?

i thought if u got a certain score on your writing SAT you didn't have to take that, or am i thinking of something else

Analytical Writing Placement Examination

* 30 or better on the ACT Combined English/Writing test; or
* 680 or better on the College Board SAT-II Writing Test; or
* 680 or better on the College Board SAT Reasoning Test, Writing section; or
* 3, 4 or 5 on either Advanced Placement (AP) Examination in English; or
* 5 or above on an International Baccalaureate High Level English A exam
* 6 or above on an International Baccalaureate Standard Level English A exam

so what about the math placement exam that your supposed to take during orientation? i got 710 in sat I math and 690 sat II Math lvl 2. also i'm probably getting 4/5 on ap calc exam. that hsould be enuff to get out of it right? cos i wanna have fun during orientation not take couple hours of testing

You're good.

from what i heard it's easy anyway. if you fail just take workload english, it's the easiest class ever. plus it's not like it sets you behind or anything.

plus even if you're off the hook, you still have to take the writing proficiency exam your junior year. (or if you fail, take a lower div and an upper div english class)

fooshy

so we take this analy writing placement exam and then...

you either place into the appropriate eng class OR you take workload english?

that doesnt sound too bad...

What about chem? My teacher said not taking the chem placement test was the best thing he ever did because remedial chem opened up his eyes to chem. But I'm afraid that it will set me back because I have to take it before I go onto take other chem classes.

But then again, if i suck at chem then going into a regular chem class will probably screw me right?

How hard is it? Should I study?

regular chem spends the first 2 weeks on review of basic chemistry, so you'll be fine if you pass the test. if not, youll take workload and get an A in che 2a.

fooshy

Wait? Does workload take the place of chem 1? I don't get what you mean by "get an A in che 2a".

Workload preps you for Chem 2A, so it theoretically should make Chem 2A a lot more easier when you take it.

Taking workload classes do not set you back at all. A lot of people take workload classes. Unlike high school, it's up to you to decide what classes you want to take for that quarter. You can opt to stay away from English courses until the next quarter, year, etc. There are no "freshmen" classes other than seminars, which means all the courses you'll be taking will be a mix of all years.
