And I thought I was done with college admissions forever :(

I'm not completely sure I want to transfer, but I want the option at least if things don't get better at BC. I don't really know where to look though...

Things I like about BC:
-Strong school spirit
-Proximity to a city
-Social atmosphere

Things I don't like:
-Not a good school for foreign languages
-Strict core curriculum
-I grew up in Boston so it's way too close
-Cold weather is awful for me
-I play a sport that limits my options for classes

Here are some stats:
- 3.54 GPA first semester of college
- 1990 SAT (670 Math, 630 CR, 690 Writing)
- 3.7 HS GPA
- Varsity athlete @ BC

Are these stats good? I think I could use my sport to help get me in, although I'm not sure.

you have good stats what school are you consider transferring

I was thinking USC, Georgetown sound like good fits. I think talking to the coaches at these schools would help, although I’m nervous about doing that because I don’t want to tick off my BC coach! It’s kind of an awkward situation.

I did pretty well when I applied as a senior…got into top 30 schools and a couple top 20, but they were southern schools and I just didn’t feel at home in the south. Should I still shoot for top 30?

I go to BC myself. I always thought about transferring for some of the reasons you cited (I commute to school, and I always feel that I went to college way too close to own home.)

But we will see…

Those are pretty good schools and the best thing to do is avoid telling your bc coach until you talk to the other schools. South is very different from The east( i live in mass also). I think both of those schools have good qualities(i was considering Georgetown also when i first transferred). If you want to try for top 30 go ahead and whats your major that might also play a role
