It's only the first week in November... don't get your hopes up.

And kyun90... when I created my id, it was my dream to work in Germany for BMW... I am nowhere near rich enough for one of those.

I JUST submitted on November 1st. So I guess this means I won't be getting my PIN for a while now. =( Would this mean an interview is out of the question?

ARGH I'm so nervous for decisions to come out, but I'm not getting my hopes up...

I believe that when they coordinate interviews, they give priority to early action applicants; it makes sense. :P

so hypothetically, i shall get my pin around nov 18th.. sigh

oh and btw iam, i live in bahrain! a few hours away from saudi! =)

iam

are many students applying from your country?
do you go to an international school?
coming from your country is pretty unique I think.
are are your EC?

Just think of it this way- if you get in, it just may be one of the best Christmas/holiday presents you'll ever get. If you're rejected, you have the joy of the holidays to boost your spirits. (and I could also go for some of applelovespear's chocolates- remind me to stock up on the 14th.)

Haha it'll be so difficult to enjoy the holidays knowing you got rejected from your first choice school and spending them doing other applications =(

But such is life.

40 days until Dec. 14th!

Yeah, that's what my father said. If you get into Yale, you'll know before Christmas so think of it as an early Christmas present. Then he said, if you don't get in, you can still spend your Christmas having fun with friends and not stressing out like most of them who are still doing applications (he told me to get them done ASAP so I finished all of them two weeks ago).

J mom,
I'm not a Saudi but from Pakistan, grew up in Saudi and have gone to the American school here since K1-14yrs- same school. talk about diversity right? A Pakistani, grown up in Saudi been to an American school all my life. and no my essay is NOT on diversity-
Actually no one from my school is applying to Yale. But yes we do have quite a few amazing students every year applying to top US universities. My brother is at Cornell Engineering this year as a freshman. Our school is great! but then i have not known another school.
I'm very active in MUN- my absolute passion. Been to some 6-7 conferences infact this year I have been selected by Berlin MUN as Security Council chair. First time for our school to get a chair position.
But Yale remains a serious reach, as it is for everyone. Okay for most of us.
Hey Sara we're close, lets meet up if we ever get the time from these AP's, exams , quizzes, tournaments, conferences!!! which school do you go to in Bahrain?

You guys are so awesome <3 I only wish I could be so optimistic.

Wow. Are many of you guys done with your apps? So far, I've only finished a grand total of 2 out of 9 shot

Nooooo. Not even one. And i have scheduled to complete and submit all my apps by Dec 15th- or i'll be too depressed if...

Any whoo Quixotic, done with all your apps? my God I'm impressed. I'd better get crackin'

Okay, boys and girls, listen to some advice.

Get your other apps in order. You can send them ahead of time and consider the money spent a bargain if you get in early.

Or finish the apps and just hold on to them in case you need them. You do not want to be writing supplemental essays in the wake of a deferral or rejection. Get them out of the way now - don't mess up your holidays working on apps.

The stats for EA are always a little misleading. A lot of those accepted are athletes or students with some other type of "hook." Do not be discouraged if you are deferred. You may be tapped during regular decision. Don't get all freaked out by talk of early letters. Lots of kids who are accepted never get one. Keep your time on this board or any other like it to a minimum. You get a warped view of things reading other people's accomplishments.

Hang in there and good luck. Yale is truly an amazing place, but if you are a successful student you will be successful and happy wherever you attend.

iam - i go to Ibn Khuldoon National School.. have you heard of it by any chance?

Yes actually I have. Goodluck girl!

thank youu!! same goes to you too!

have you been to bahrain before?

haha oh gosh, i've done NONE of my apps. except for the yale one i submitted of course...and i didnt even start on that until like october 15th.

yes. i tend to procrastinate =(

Yes, I'm done with all my applications. I started some of the applications, the bulk of them anyways, in the summer such as personal information and whatnot. I then looked at prompts and started crafting essays too.

I sent in all my applications except three two weeks ago. I submitted the last three, UCs, Friday after school, as the filing period opened the day before.

i still haven't gotten a confirmation email... i was nervous about it but wjb's post made me feel better.

i couldn't agree more with the Bachelor girls above... wanting to go to Yale is like having a massive crush. Hopefully Yale will look my way!!

I just got my confirmation email from the Yale Admissions Office at 5:02 AM PST. I sent in my application on Nov. 1st...

I checked my e-mail this morning before I went to school and I got my confirmation e-mail. I sent my application the week of the 22nd.
