And then there were two: GW and Brandeis

I. Am. So. Confused. Both financial aid packages are almost exactly the same, so that's not a factor (though GW does have a fixed tuition and scholarship plan). Brandeis is 30 minutes from my house, which my parents seem to really like. I'd like to double major in History and IR. GW definitely has a better IR program, as its ranked 7th among undergrad programs, although I've heard elsewhere that one of the biggest IR professors in the US, Bob Art, teaches at Brandeis. Don't know if there's a much of a difference between history programs, though I think being in DC might help. However, I very much like the small liberal arts feel of Brandeis, with the research background to boot. The classes are smaller and, apparently, the same professors that teach grad students at Brandeis also teach undergrads. Also, I'd very much prefer an urban campus like GW, but Brandeis is only about 15 minutes from Boston, the best college city ever (DC is pretty close though). Also, name recognition/prestige is important to my parents. I've also heard that prestige is a factor in law school admissions? Help help help! I have 2 days!

It’s your choice. You obviously have all the info. Spare us your self-centered ruminations, OK?

Thanks for that. You should post that on the 100,000 other “school A vs school B” threads on CC…I’m sure people would really appreciate it

I apologize- I was in a bad mood last night when I posted that.

But what are you looking for? Do you want an actual honest appraisal of the 2 schools? Most people who post here don’t have experience with Brandeis. If you just want GW students to convince you to come here, then I guess this is the place.

Well I posted the same thing in the Brandeis forum, and even though most of the posts are obviously biased, there is the occasional parent that has experience with both schools. I guess id like any insight that i may have left out in my first post that could be useful
