Hurrah! We thought Brandeis was fantastic on our college tour - my son liked the fact that it was near Boston, but not surrounded by it. Congratulations on another fine acceptance!

thanks for this post. I am not into checking the official thread on a regular basis but I am somehow very interested in this particular topic. My brother went to Brandeis oh so many years ago and has done very well for himself!! :)

Hooray!!!!!!!!! I knew we'd see more success and good news about andison!!!!!!!!! Congratulations--well deserved!!!!!! Our D loves being at her Boston area school--so much to do & you ignore the weather in the winter!!!!

Now pyewackets D and your S can meet!!

HEY I can't believe how much I missed having a life this afternoon/evening. It's like sleeping through the moon landing or something.

I posted on the "right" thread but hey, I like to live on the edge so here is another one.

Somehow this acceptance goes to everyone's hearts because it is not only the dream come true for the son but also the validation of a mother's true belief in her son-- being not only 'good enough' but great. You always knew he was great, and he is-- and now Brandeis says so too, with a big fat check behind it!!!

We are soooooooo happy that you get to experience this joy after all your tears last year. You and andison deserve this.

Elation! Joy! Pandemonium! Celebration! :D

So, is this his first choice, or are you waiting for everything to come in before he decides? Anyway, I'm thrilled for you both. Just when the nightmare ends and you begin sleeping again, then things get too exciting and you're wide awake again!

Somewhere.....overtherainbow...way...up...high..............

Holy dang I'm happy for you!!!!!! I can just imagine the smiles in your house right now!!!!!! Yay Andison!!!

Congratulations from us, too! My D is headed for Brandeis --Perhaps we'll meet at orientation?

Hurray for CC for letting us break a rule here...thank you SO much!

Andi, we've all got our dancin' shoes on and are heading for the rooftops! HUZZAH and HURRAY!!! We're just beyond thrilled at this fantastic news.

Admission to WPI and Brandeis are grounds for celebration...but the scholarships make it so incredibly special...and winning the Leonard Bernstein scholarship is such a HUGE achievement! Maybe, just maybe, this will repair the damage done to Andison's self confidence last spring? Not that there should have been any damage...but impossible to think there wasn't...what a wonderful, special kid you have--and what a wonderful, special mom he has!

Talk about "joy in the morning after a dark night of storms"...just so THRILLED!

Congrats and mega-hugs--

Wonderful news. Congratulations.

I woke up today and he's still accepted!

Thanks CC for letting us have this celebration thread.

SBmom your post made me cry!

That's the truth! I was awake half the night too excited to sleep!!!

Congratulations, andi and andison1 :) It must be exhilirating. My parents are pretty happy with my acceptances, since I'm two years behind, but I don't believe they can reach your level of exhiliration! I'm sure come mid-April, andison will have a very hard time making a decision unless he has a clear favorite!

And whoever suggested showing the letter to Swarthmore - I agree! :p

Just want to add my deepest congratulations and a big HURRAH!!!!!!

And thanks to the mods, too :)

Congrats and big hugs to andi and andison.

OMG, what a difference a year makes.

Andi,

For all of us who have followed your story for the past year, the words on these boards really cannot describe what is in our hearts for you and your son. Out hearts are so full; we are jumping up and down like our own kid has been accepted- but wait a minute, he is one of ours :D

You need your own definition in wikipedia

Andi-

She has shared her story, not as a woe is me tale but to provide us with teachable moments about how unpredictable the admissions process can be. She and her son have shown us what it is like to be down and while the easier choice would have been to stay down, they gathered up all of their reserves and came up with a new game plan went out and tried it again. The best part is that through it all, Andi has been the eptiome of grace under pressure through one of the most difficult times in her child's life.

This has been a really long night in your lives where many of us have weeped with you and for you. Now that morning is finally coming our faith has been renewed, and we know that andison will end up where he needs to be. Thank you so much for allowing us to share in your joy.

We'll definitely be toasting to you on SA.

much love

Congratulations! I am so very happy for you both. 2006 is Andison's year.

A great school, a great scholarship, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies in the admissions office. What more could a person want?!?
Congratulations to Andison!

Congrats and best, best wishes!!! Two for 2 and more to come!

Sybbie lol You'll need to footnote CC for being the source of information and moral support!!

Digmedia, You really gave me a good laugh! I sure hope that when Andi and Andison read your post that they will laugh even more (as in laughing so hard they have tears streaming down their faces)!!

Moderators,

Thank you so much for leaving this thread up. To any readers on the forum who wonder why this is here, as you can tell, Andi and her son's story really hit home for many of us. Andi shared her son's outcome for the education of us all, so I think we are all celebrating not only her son's good fortune but the deepening of an already rich lesson.
