Congratulations to you both!

i followed your son's situation last spring so i am so happy to see everything worked out for the best. as they say "good things come to those who wait."

How wonderful to log on and see such happiness and excitement! How many more apps are pending?? You might need a valium by May! : )

Andi, I just want to add my heartfelt congratulations to you, your son, and to your whole family! Life can be so tough sometimes...it is utterly thrilling to hear and vicariously live through this sweet, vindicating, happy, happy ending. It is also fantastic that Andison's live audition resulted in this phenomenal scholarship. Not only have his academic accomplishments been recognized, but clearly his substantial musical talent. And most importantly, who he is as a whole person. What a
wonderful time for you all to cherish!

I'll add my liddle-ole voice to this congrats thread! Congrats, again!!!! He certainly deserves lots of good news this time around!

I <3 cc and all the folks on it :). This thread is pure pleasure.

Andi, just want to add my voice to the chorus. Congratulations!

I still believe that things in life sometimes happen for a reason -- maybe in hindsight it will become apparent that your son was meant to be at Brandeis (or wherever else he ends up after this year, if he still is undecided). The music scholarship sounds wonderful -- it sounds like a good fit between a college that offers a lot of opportunities and a student who something to offer that the college really wants. Perhaps at Brandeis your son will get a combination of a top quality of education and personal attention and acclaim that would have been lacking at some of the colleges he applied to last year.

Andi, congratulations! I like Calmom's idea that things happen for a reason. You'll never know what the alternatives might have been like, but I believe this experience probably changed your son for the better. I'm sure he's always been wonderful, based on your earlier posts. But such a difficult experience is bound to make him even more compassionate and understanding. I predict great things for him!

88 is a v. lucky number, meaning large fortune, in Chinese number theory BTW....

^^^^ guess we should have stopped this thread right there! Now we'll have to get to 888.

andi - I've been waiting for this thread for almost a year now. Congratulations!

It must be so wonderful for your son to feel "wanted" after feeling "rejected" for all these months. He's the same great kid he was last year, but all these acceptances must certainly make him feel better about himself. It's so hard to see our kids feeling "hurt" and "rejected." And the Leonard Berstein scholarship!! what a great honor!

I agree his story would make a great book, or at least a major magazine article. You already have a huge fan following from all of us CCers

I have been waiting with baited breath since the first acceptance, as I know others on this site also have been. I really feel the same way I did when we went through this with our own children and you both last year. It's as if andi is OUR son. What a wonderful and well-deserved reward for a terrific young man, and a truly marvelous, graceful, supportive and loving mother. I feel blessed for having "known" you both. Enjoy! Go celebrate. Kudos.

"It's as if andison is OUR son."

exactly, a son any parent would be thrilled to have raised, a son that deserves his portion of good fortune, a son that has a contribution to make to our world, a son ready to go to live with his classmates.

We attended a national competition last May with 51 contestants, and I got into a heartfelt conversation with a handful of boys from different states at our lunch break..several of whom were rooting for andison (I had never met any of these kids before this day). They saw their own reflections in him. Well, maybe their own reflections plus the added reality check that Andison might in addition be more musically gifted than most kids with an admission in hand that month.
Many kids he has never met have watched and waited for him.
Andison has always been a member of the Class of 2009 with a parable of a beginning that is going to now morph into something really wonderful to witness.

-Andi.

"andi has exceeded their stored private messages quota and can not accept further messages until they clear some space."

CONGRATULATIONS ANDISON !!!!!!!

Faline - your post has left me speechless. Normally not one to broadcast my issues, I posted that day out of total frustration. Little did I know, even then, that it would still be going on eleven months later  It has meant so much to me that others could benefit from our experience and that so many of you were here for us. You've kept me going!!

Congratulations Andi and Andison!

As Heidi Klum says on Project Runway with a very cute German accent "You are either in or you are out" and Andison is definitely IN this year!

andi - I want to add my most heartfelt congratulations. I've followed your story for a long time and couldn't be happier to hear your news. All good things to you and yours!!!!!!

I have followed your story for the last year, and have occasionally logged on to this site just to check on your son's progress. CONGRATULATIONS! This is great news.

gotta chime in here, Booyah Andison and Andi. Now go and rosin up that bow!!! Mucho congratulations.
