Your thread last year on your son was my introduction to CC. I am so very happy for him and the school that will be fortunate enough to have him enroll. Your openess and sharing of his plight with us must take courage and a deep desire to help others. You have certainly been a guiding force in my son's choice of schools to apply to this year and I can't thank you enough. What a wonderful and strong role model for your child.

And now, back to celebrating-look out your window, confetti is cascading down from the Prudential Center!

the gap year has become a magnificent option for the transition between the intensity of high school to the foreverness of college and adulthood opportunities/responsibilities.

Operamom I totally agree with that. High school these days can be pretty intense. A gap year can provide a breather.

Congrats again Andi. Your response to nopoisonivy made me go back and read that story too--how I missed it, I don't know. Both of your stories are just amazing.

It is so gratifying to come back here and read great news! I remember logging in last year just to hear if any spaces opened up on the waitlists for Andi's son. No need for that this year.

Oh my gosh, Audiophile. I see that you, like me, have memorized the entire "Godfather" trilogy.

(....for any of you who forget: The above is from Michael Corleone's speech in his kitchen, to his family -- right after the helicopter strafing & just before his stroke/diabetic crisis.)

I've only come to this site 3 times since last year and today I came specifically to see if there was an word on Andison....I figured it was a long shot so I was thrilled to find this thread and want to offer my congratulations to you both! It's a story I will NEVER forget!

Oh, and while I'm at it, Andi --blame it on audiophile for the little diversion :-) , I usually handle my congrats in PM's, but I need to add mine publicly here, & mostly because I had forgotten he was had also applied to Brandeis -- if you mentioned it. I looked into that Leonard Bernstein scholarship of full tuition. And for any musician or merely student of music to receive even an honorarium with LB's name on it -- well, for those of us who know anything about LB's accomplishments (and his direct connection to Tanglewood!), just a big WOW.

Andi, hello! I was a regular here last year so know the story. I still lurk very occasionally (and post even less) but I was absolutely delighted to see this thread and want to add my good wishes to you and your son. It is lovely to come back to see such a happy ending or shall we say new beginning?

Inspired by the great news, I popped over to the official list and recognized a few old familiar names as well as many new ones. Congratulations to you all, and good luck to the HS juniors and their parents who are about to start the whole process. Be well!

PS - Thanks, Mods, for allowing the thread. I would have missed the good news otherwise, as, I imagine, might other CC alumni, who pop in only infrequently now that we are empty nesters. It was a good call.

Case Western..another possible Great College Experience. Joining in on saying congrats and good luck attending some Accepted Students Days in April! great memories ahead regardless..best!

Case Western. Great place. Go Andison and go Andi for having this time around arranged or helped Andison to arrange a wonderful admissions process this time 'round.

andi -
congrats to your son on another win. My Master's is from Case and my husband works there. Would love to treat you guys to lunch/dinner if you are in town some time!

I have been reading this forum for about two months now. My daughter and I would like very much to read the archives of Andison as we are having a difficult time right now. Could someone direct us to those archives?
Thank you so much.
