Thanks for the link, lemonade.

The applications for boarders should be 2353 (an error in the last paragraph). I like the way information flows in Andover. The Phillipians is phenominal!

It’s really good, isn’t it? I think I’ll be writing for the Phillipian next year.

I would love to write for the Phillipian! Anyone here going to Andover next year?

Me! I’ll be a new Upper. You?

Lower actually. Still cool though. I’m interested in journalism and there is a good chance we’ll be working together! See you this fall

By the way, congratulations! You got accepted in the most selective year. I chickened out and decided to do 10th grade over again. Don’t you feel special?
Have you checked out the newly admitted students section of the website? Now THAT is what I call good marketing. I was sold when I saw that they used my profile in the “some of your new classmates” section.

Wow, they used your profile? Nice! I guess I wasn’t special enough ;)

Thanks! Yeah, the acceptance rate for Upper year was like 10%. I’m still shocked that I made the cut. I kinda do wish that I’d applied to Lower year, though. The only real reason that I didn’t was that we hadn’t banked on our financial aid being as generous as it turned out to be. It’ll be cool to meet you in the Phillipian office!

Since I’m an exonian, I’m entitled to a little Andover Bashing… I found those profiles pretty damn intimidating. I’m sure it would be great if you were one of them, but when I read that some guy read about quantum physics for fun, I was more alienated than impressed. I don’t want to hear about 20 kids that have founded their owns countries, it’s belittling and a little cold. Exonian>phillipian

If that’s intimidating, istoleyournose!, good luck when you find what some of those over-achievers at Exeter have done! Honestly I think Andover students are more well rounded than Exonians, which means the stats/stunts some exonians have in a particular area may be more IMPRESSIVE! They just haven’t told - YET!

I think it’s hard to say that a group of 1000 people is more well rounded than another. The whole generalization that’s accurate is that exeter owns andover tbh. And I know exeter has some of these people, I’m just saying it was intimidating to have it pointed out and that it might have been a mistake as it scared people like me a little bit.

OK. I see your point - don’t ask don’t tell right ;)

Haha istoleyournose, at least my Exeter bashing was founded. I think you’d agree with me that Exonians aren’t as well known for their social habits as Andover students are. I’d be interested to hear in which ways Exeter “owns” Andover. Because in athletics, the schools are fairly evenly matched. In college matriculations, Andover is negligibly ahead of Exeter. In SAT scores, Exeter is ahead of Andover by around 40 (although clearly it doesn’t help with their college matriculations). Andover remains need blind. Exeter does not.

So please, enlighten me as to how Exeter and Andover are anything other than two extremely similar schools only 30 miles apart.

K I will do this in list form.
1.girls are hotter
2.we have way more $$
3.way better campus
4.are responsible with our FA and aren’t splurging on new cafeterias and ice sculptures
5. obviously the schools are really similar… I’m just smacking the smurf around a little ;)

In have Exeter higher than Andover, BUT:

In no certain terms are girls hotter

Yes, but we can’t maintain need blindness?

True dat

True that, then again I like Ritzy hotels

yep

the hot girls were hottter, the ugly girls were way uglier. <—what i saw

I can take that. At least on the website Andover puts up the better looking girls… That and Andover has more girls on the “Above hot” threshold.

Umm excuse me principal, but Andover girls are far hotter, and they are far more athletic, and nicer.

I have a right to say this having gone to both revisit days and having talked to Andover and Exeter girls. At Exeter this other revisit kid and I talked to this girl that was annoying.

I went to both schools as well, and the exeter girls were way hotter. And just one annoying girl doesn’t reflect 1000 other kids…
