Andover/Exeter/SPS Chances??

Hey!

(I applied last year. Exeter/SPS: Waitlist, Andover: Rejected)

So I recently applied to Exeter, Andover, and SPS (Concord). I’m a 9th grader from NH, my SSAT score is 94th Percentile and here are my grades from last semester:

AP Physics 1: 92
Honors Chemistry: 83
Humanities: 95
Mandarin 2: 89
Computer Science: 99
Algebra 2/Pre-Calc: 97
AP Art History: 86
AP US Gov&Politics: 91

Here are my extracurricular activities:

I play tennis, draw (PM me for my portfolio), campaign, do robotics, and have a startup.

My essays are fine, again PM me to see them, and so I wanted to see if anyone who goes to these schools or got into these schools could give me an estimate of where I stand?

Thanks so much!

are you applying for a repeat 9th or 10th? Also, unrelated but it’s not recommended to use your real face as a profile picture, just for caution!

not repeat

altablue, what are your thoughts?

I’m applying as a 10th grader

Are you applying as a day student or boarding student? Are there a lot of other kids from your school applying? Are there other strong candidates?

I’m applying as a boarder for all 3, and there’s one other person applying in my grade and she’s a little less qualified than me but she has music up her sleeve. Another student is applying in the 8th grade and he is at my level

10th grade is tough due to limited slots; your stats and profile are decent but not compelling. You probably have at least a puncher’s chance! Don’t stress out about it too much–the applications are already done. High school is a lot of fun no matter whether you go to boarding or local school. Good luck!

Thanks for the help!

I will add, if it’s helpful, that the interviews all went very well

I think your chances aren’t that bad actually, and also personality is a big thing that a lot of people overlook in the process that plays a big factor. It could go both ways for you on March 10th, I think it’s a matter of what each schools need in terms of diversity, sports, etc. Another major thing for you is if you are applying for financial aid

Seeking financial aid, while a factor, is not significant for the top three (Exeter, Andover & St. Paul’s) simply due to their enormous endowments.

Okay so I decided not to go for financial aid because I’d rather get in and not go because of financial aid than not get in because of financial aid

Wait… But that means you financially won’t be able to attend any of them (except Andover) even if you get in?

Yes. I wouldn’t be able to go either way. My family doesn’t qualify for enough financial aid and in the need-aware schools, that would reduce my chances of being admitted. I’m not holding my breath on getting in though, especially given the size of the admitted lower class and the competition that surrounds me.
