I'm applying to both Andover and Nmh and was wonder my chances
Overall on the ssat's i got a 92
In school i hav never gotten a grade lower than a 97
I have very little ec's. I have played soccer since first grade and i play 10 months of the year. I have played Division one for three years and we won the title last year. For two summers i have attended CTY. I know its not much but I'm wondering if I have a chance at Andover particularly. NMH is just a back up of sorts

You have a chance, but the problem is is that you will not stand out much with all the other applicants. Alot of others have 90+ SSAT scores, and play soccer. You have a chance, but so does everyone else who is applying. Good Luck. :]

thanks, oh does the fact that my interviewer was recruited by my soccer coach help? I was talking about soccer during my interview and the guy (varsity coach) was like “he tried to recruit me”

yeah tons of kids apply who are really smart but dont really do anything to stand out of the crowd… part of the reasons of private schools are to accept kids who will add to the community life, not just the academics. i would say your chances are not that high, but you still have a pretty good chace… not to be a pessimist : )

Preps turn down smart/nice/moderately athletic/cty alums all the time. And the acceptance criteria seems to vary year to year. None of it is predictable.

Always have a plan B, plan C etc that will make you happy.

If you are an outstanding soccer player and the coach thinks you can make an immediate impact on varsity, then you do stand a better than average chance. Both of these schools value their soccer teams and work hard to field winning teams. Andover loves club soccer players (I suppose NMH does too, but I know Andover really goes out of their way to recruit quality club players). I don’t know what you mean by “division I” as I’ve never heard that term applied to US Youth Soccer…might you mean region I??? Hopefully you have already been in touch with the soccer coach and sent him a complete profile.
