Has anyone had any updates about the Andover or Exeter 9th grade wait lists?

I got in contact with the step-dean of admissions and international coordinator at Andover... (he interviewed me when I visited there, got his card and email)

He said that it looks like they won't be going to their waitlist...which to me translates as a 'YOU FAIL' but that's just my interpretation.

Bumping this thread. I am curious if any of the people who chose to stay on either wait list has spoken to/had mail from either school since May 1st.

i'm on the 10th grade waitlist but at the moment it doesn't seem theyll be going to it.

received letter one week ago ( arrived saturday last )
it was a standard template,..."we have a number of applicants,...but we wish to keep you on the list as we continue to review your credentials..."
we followed up with a phone call; admin said nothing decided until june 15, but will get back to us then. feel at his point it's politics and playing nice-nice.
the above applies to exeter. andover, however, kept me on but emphasized that they were full, really full.

someone i know (or know through another person) got off the andover waitlist. she'll be going there for 10th grade next year.
:)

Is there "something" that happens in the middle of June that would make the schools think a space may open up at that time? I thought the tuition payments were due in July. Is there some other deadline?

Received a letter from Exeter last Tuesday (May 13). Standard letter "thanks, but no thanks". I guess 10th grade is full.

To 1234: For Andover: initial course and athletics selections for new 9th graders are due May 30th. Billing statements are sent out in June, and half of tuition (unless you are on the montly plan) is due by July 15th. So, I am not really sure where the June 15th date comes from.

BrooklynGuy: Thanks for the info. I can't figure out why Exeter would use June 15th as a marker either.

Update... just got a letter from Exeter saying they were full, but a few selected students were left on the waitlist and that I was one of those students :o

Exact same situation as seikuu with Exeter. But I was accepted normally (like first round) by Andover and said yes as soon as I got the letter, lol.

We got the same letter as Seikuu from Exeter.

=/ Now I feel less special lol.

Looks like they just sent out that letter to make all the waitlisted applicants feel better. Or maybe it's just really coincidental the few students on the waitlist all use cc o_o
