after andover receives all of your application materials, is it true that they send you a postcard telling you that theyve received everything and good luck&blah?

because i didn't get one..but online it says that it's all received. and we called and they said they got everything.

If they said that they received everything, then they received everything and you have nothing to worry about. I did get a postcard saying they had received my app, but I don't think it has anything to do with how likely they are to accept you or anything else like that. It was probably just an accident on their part, or they didn't have enough time.

My S decided not to complete his application to Andover and about a week after the deadline that mailed him a letter (#10 business envelope) letting him know that his application was not yet complete and urging him to complete it as soon as possible in order to receive a decision by March 10.

I assume that you also did not get such a letter.

Andover was, hands down, the coolest school to work with in terms of admissions. They had their act together, communicated effectively...and without the stuffiness and haughtiness that other schools seemed prone to, they were very cool about being flexible and accommodating....

If it was my decision and I was basing it entirely on Admission Offices...Andover would be the cream of the crop. I expect your postcard got lost in the mail or in your parent's papers...because I'd bet my house that they mailed it to you.

I don't beleive I got a postcard either, however I did get a large email saying thank you for applying, your application is complete, and good luck on March 10th. :) Did any one else get this email?

NO! I didn't get an e-mail about applying, yet I did receive several postcards and letters in the mail regarding the application process and finally a postcard signifying my completion in the big, long process!

Definately well worth it, though! Even if I don't get in!

I agree with D'yer Maker, jenny. The postcard is ever so small and does not have an envelope and I lost mine the day I got it. Pretty easy to get lost in the mail. It could fit in the crease of the mailman's seat perfectly, for crying out loud!

I agree that Andover was extraordinarly efficient. I'm not sure how they handle all of those applications (especially regarding that they receive the most!).
