Hey , I’m considering applying to Andover as a lower. And as a student who attends, I was kind of hoping you could help me out a little bit. I really want to apply, but my previous grades aren’t the best becuase I’ve had four open heart surgeries, six cardiac catheterizations and 2 EP studies. Will this hurt my chance of admission? I’m 14 and am going to be a freshman this fall. My grades are great, I volunteer at a retirement home. I play Guitar, piano, organ, and sitar. I write poetry, and I have found a potential cure for cystic fibrosis. I also have strong reccomendations from my teachers and colleagues(I do some work at hospitals locally) Do I stand a chance around Andover’s admission table? Please help! Thankyou so much.

How long are the free periods at Andover?

What are Andover/Exeter days like?

hey guys im a soph. repeating soph year hopefully at andover. it is currently my #1 choice (well andover and st paul are both in my heart but andover has a slight edge) im currently being recruited for varsity football, how intense is andover/exeter day. i hope we dont get booed if we lose =/

I’ll add to the students answering questions here.

Ca_Condor: Day students are accepted just as well as boarders. I’m a boarder with many day student friends and I find that that is very common. And for shadow day, just don’t be afraid to ask any questions that you have.

Andovergirl22: Periods are 45 minutes, with 10 minutes in between, so your free period would be that length.

Hoping411: A/E days are super fun. One school brings busloads of students to the other school and you spend the day there and there are lots of sports games. The students really go all out in spirit and it’s awesome.

Jyun212: A/E is pretty intense but don’t worry about losing. It happens. And you won’t get booed.
