Andover vs Choate

I've attended revisits and scrounged websites and CC. But I'm still having trouble deciding. I think I'm leaning slightly towards one, but I keep going back and forth. What are the main pros and cons of each? Are there any little things that make you like one over the other? Is anyone else having trouble deciding?

I was faced with the same decision, and I chose Andover. The following is my personal opinion, and undoubtably it will counter someone else’s opinion. I just thought I would share my story. To me, Andover kids seemed more interested in the why and not just the what. Andover students, to me, seemed very passionate about what they did. Andover seemed to be a place where your interests would grow, and you’d get many unique opportunities. I felt that Choate also had opportunities, but less that I was interested in. Again, this is completely subjective. Go with whichever felt better. Where could you see yourself next year? Look at the clubs lists, which ones would you want to join. Make your own pros and cons list, and weight the categories based on importance. Create 3 main categories (academics, ECs, and Social/daily life) and then create subcategories worth points. At the end, tally the total points and see which one wins. Be sure to put extra extra wait for things like fit. I did this and on mine Andover won by a lot. Sculpt your chart toward your interests, and weight it accordingly. Hurry, though. You have to call Andover tomorrow latest with your decision.

I just sent a PM to you.

Which one did you choose??

Cafe23, I have made a choice, but I’d rather not post it online. I’ve already posted some fairly identifying information, and I don’t want to post any more if I can help it. But I have made a choice, and I’m confident that I’ll be happy there.

Oh okayy, good luck  wherever you choose to go

Whichever one you choose you’ll do great at. If you’re comfortable with it, pm me where you’re going. Hopefully we’re future classmates!

Good luck

Choate will be less of a pressure-cooker, Choate is smaller, so less competition during college admissions.

attend andover!
