Andover?

I was just wondering if anyone went there and thought it wasn't worth it. Or, didn't like their time there. I've looked at a lot of threads about PA and no one ever seems to dislike it(except for the occasional rival schools students). I just wanted to know if Andover was being hyped up because I plan applying there but I dont want to go there and hate it.

Thanks!

P.S. sorry for the bad grammer

If I have bad grammar, I wouldn’t worry about going there as I won’t get in.

It all depends on your personal preference…would you like a bigger school like Andover or would you want to go to a school with a smaller population? Do you want sit down meals or just cafeteria style? Most everyone associated with a school will “hype” up their school but it’s up to you to understand which schools are best for you. I personally really like Andover :slight_smile: but it’s not for everyone!

I just finished 3 years at Andover and can tell you that it was one of the best experiences of my life. There really is nothing like it. I made a video recently called “The Andover Song” that basically summarizes my thoughts on the experience… feel free to check it out, and message me if you have any questions!
Wow the coach on the turf field in the video is one heck of a rapper. Is he the football coach or a music teacher?

He’s an admission officer and I think he’s one of the assistant football coaches

Mykbibby - Great job on the video.
Andover is not for those who needs their hands held every step of the way and it is not for helicopter parents who needs to talk to the teachers all the time. You have to be really independent, motivated and willing with little adult intervention and parents have to trust you to handle it. PA parent of a recent graduate.

Really independent, motivated and willing with little adult intervention to do?

[thread=1036606]Drug Ring at Andover[/thread]

I went to Andover with Mykibibby at the same time and was dormmates with him the entire time. It was definitely the best three years of my life - and hey, why not apply and if you get in, go to spring visits? It doesn’t hurt to apply, even if you end up not liking it.

And yeah that guy is an admissions officer - he coaches baseball though, not football.

As for the drug bust, that small selection of people really isn’t representative of the entire student body. If you’re into that type of stuff… yeah you’ll find it, just like at any other high school. But otherwise, I doubt you’ll see a single glimpse of it.

Wow. That a really good video!
Thanks for the advice everyone! And…Invent, stop trying to pick a fight.

What fight beeba?

Just don’t respond Beeba13. It’s not worth it.
