so i haven't gotten a letter/package from andover yet..
does that mean i'm waitlisted/rejected?
=/ eeeeeeeeks

Um...I'm not sure, and I don't think that anyone can say with certainty. Good luck.

@x33 jenny: UPS doesn't have Saturday delivery to all locations on its system. A couple weeks ago I started a post...and then dropped it before posting it...showing how UPS' Saturday overnight prices ($55-60 to, say, Baltimore) might mean Andover would use a different carrier or even have Monday deliveries all across the board this year. I don't mean to get your hopes up, but there's no need for you to feel certain about Andover's decision until you read it with your own eyes. An AWOL UPS driver does not a BS decision make!

jenny, don't worry. I have a couple friends who live in Andover who are highly qualified, but still waiting to hear from PA. Perhaps UPS isn't working today for the Andover area.

Just prepare for the worse, but HOPE for the best. =]

thanks everyone :)
haha yeah i'm definitely hoping for the best..
already cried my eyes out thinking the worst because i haven't heard ANYTHING yet.

@ dancer: well some of my friends in Andover have received acceptances/waitlist letters so i wonder if i'm just rejected =/

Kids got waitlist letters today?!?!

Don't worry...YET. You seem sooooo qualified and if they don't want you, their loss.

haha yeah my best friend got a waitlist letter from andover. =/
i haven't heard about any andover rejections today...
so maybe i'm rejected! :/
ahhhhhhh!
aww thanks dancerx31293, and congrats again on your admittance to andover! :)

and does anyone think the acceptances to andover for financial aid for day students have anything to do with it?
(the financial aid)

omg . dancer , your words sound like music right now .
i didn't get a letter yet so i thought you know , i either didn't get in or would have to wait until monday .
hearing that kids IN andover don't know yet helps me feel better that i haven't gotten anything yet .

haha i totally agree with you reyidizzle :)
dancerx's words do sound like music..beautiful music.
whether or not it's true we'll have to see.

oh really reyidizzle? lol well i feel a little better cause it's not just me, well my friend didn't get one either..but yeah.

does anyone think it has to do with financial aid?

maybe . i didn't apply for FA , did anyone who get in apply for it ?

Not that this helps, just my story..... we didn't hear anything from Andover today, and I was kind of surprised. I thought it was my son's strongest app and interview (just going by what he told me, I wasn't in with him )
Thank God, he got his acceptance from Exeter today!! We weren't expecting to hear from them until Monday... go figure, the school we thought we would hear from (Andover ) we didn't, and the one we thought we WOULDN'T hear from we did.... admissions is very fickle. But until you get the rejection letter I wouldn't give up hope.

prettyc got fa, tom got fa, and they both found out today. I didn't get fa even though I did apply for it. My parents said we will probably be able to cope with no fa, though.

There can be many factors regarding why you two didn't get ACCEPTANCES today.

It's a mystery. These schools baffle me. There are so many applicants on this site that seem so much better than me that I would love to give my spot to...as much as I love ANDOVER!!!

wait.. you heard from exeter?!?!?!?!
where do you live?

Aw, that's nice of you dancer. I'd give up my spot at Andover if I get in for many people (but I'd go to Choate if I got taken off the waitlist^^)

Did you get accepted Olivia? to Andover? if so, WOOOHOOO!!!

No, I didn't. :( Just saying, if I got in. :)

i think it MAY have to do with whether you apply for aid or not because based on aid from various schools , families can decide where to go if they need to rule out schools that can't offer enough aid .
but that's just me guessing .
i told my dad about the ups thing and he said that they can't send out ALL their acceptances by saturday priority or UPS or whatever they do because that would cost like thousands of dollars .
but they probably would do it for the FA students or the people who applied for FA so that they can better plan .
i'm not too worried because i felt i had a much stronger application than what i had last year .
if i don't get in , i'm still a much better person than i was when i found out last year .

We did hear from Exeter today, it came uspostal priority post. It came with the regular mail. We live pretty close to Exeter.

That may be right! For example tom, pretty, and I all applied for FA. We all got our acceptances today. PA let me know in my package that I was not granted any FA, even though I applied. Maybe they wanted to give me a heads up, to see if I would decline right away as oppossed to you, who doesn't plan your decision based on your grants of aid...

Actually, I applied for FA too. ;) And I didn't get in yet. (or maybe not at all)
